Privacy

Last updated: 2 November 2026

Short version: no tracking, no ads, no analytics, no selling data. You can browse events without an account and without cookies. We only store what we need to let organizers publish events.

Who is responsible

BornToExpire (https://borntoexpire.com) is responsible for the personal data described here. Questions or requests: iam@borntoexpire.com.

If you just browse

If you are an organizer

For your account we store:

The events and venues you publish are public on purpose: on this site, in calendar feeds, and in the calendars of people who subscribe or add your events.

If you write to us to ask for an account, we keep that email conversation for as long as you have an account.

Why we may do this (GDPR): to provide the service you asked for (Article 6(1)(b)) and, for server logs, our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f)).

Cookies

We use one cookie, bte_session. It is only set when you open the login page or log in. It keeps you logged in and protects forms against forgery. It is strictly necessary, so we don't ask for consent. It is signed so it can't be tampered with, and it expires after 14 days. Logging out clears it.

Links to other services

Some buttons and links take you to other services, which then handle your data under their own privacy policies:

How long we keep data

We never sell or share personal data. It is stored on our hosting provider's servers, which process it only on our behalf.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it. Email iam@borntoexpire.com and we will answer within 30 days. Deleting an organizer account also removes its events and venues.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. Organizers are told by email about important changes.
